Xhilaration Lace Skirt- Target |
At Thanksgiving time, my fabulous mom sewed this jacket, that was purchased at the thrift store for $1.99. I have a bad habit of buying things at the thrift store with a idea to transform them. The only problem is my sewing skills are not very good. I knew I wanted a jacket that was cropped and I had the detail of scalloping. So, this is the jacket when I first brought it to my mom. If you don't have a person that will help with your sewing projects most dry cleaners off tailoring services.
Do you sew your own tailoring or hire it out?

Wow, your mom did a fantastic job - this re-worked blazer looks fabulous! Hope your son is much better - and thanks for sharing with Visible Monday.
ReplyDeleteThanks, she did. I love she is always willing to give anything a whirl.
DeleteFab look :) luv that skirt
ReplyDeleteThanks, I was so attracted to the color, during this cold weather.
DeleteGreat job on the blazer...I love your look and the color of the skirt!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam.
DeleteI would have so much fun thrifting if I could only sew. By the time I send items out to be altered it's sometimes more expensive then buying them new. That jacket looks nice with the lace skirt.
ReplyDeleteMarla, that is very true that tailoring can sometimes be very expensive. That's why I am so grateful she is willing to help me.
DeleteI love your skirt, such a great colour.
ReplyDeleteYou're so creative with your DIY.
I usually do my own alterations but anything unusual or special and I'll ask my Mum to help too xo
Thank you, yes I need to practice more on my sewing, but I get so impatient because it rarely turns out like I want it to when I do the alterations.
DeleteEvery girl deserves her own personal tailor! She did a great job producing your idea ... consider it pizazzed. Hope your little one is better.
ReplyDeleteThank you, she is lucky she lives 45 minutes away or I am sure I would hound her more.
DeleteLooks Great! Love the lace skirt! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, how I wish I could sew! I have a seamstress who's wonderful and skillful...wouldn't know what to do without her.
ReplyDeleteYour skirt is gorgeous and the jacket! Wow! $1.99? You look fabulous as always!
