Boy, am I glad it's Friday! I have no big plans and that is how I like it, since that weekend was so busy. I recently have painted my bedroom and have created a new color scheme. There will be photo's to soon follow. I am accenting my room with a couple of metallic items that I have made. One is a metallic vase with hydrangeas. I love artificial arrangements because I can't kill them. I don't seem to have good luck with real plants. I think artificial arrangements are very expensive, so I made my own for under $10.00.
Materials needed are a plain glass vase( I got mine for 0.99 at the thrift store), newspaper, painters or masking tape, silver spray paint, gold metallic paint, your choice of flowers. Hobby Lobby has a great selection and they are often half off.

These are cheaper than spray paint and is a great alternative to spray paint. Sorry so messy, you can tell I use it a lot! |
Step 1: Tape off the vase with your desired pattern. I did stripes. Make sure to put plastic over the top, so you don't get paint inside the vase. Spray the vase with silver paint and let dry for 24 hours. Then remove the tape.
Step 2: Hand paint the middle portion with the gold paint. I applied two coats. After dry, cut your flowers the desired length, and finished!
I love the finished project and it is a great addition to my bedroom.
Have a good weekend!
Do you have any plans for the weekend? Anything creative in mind?
