Changing it up

Hi everyone, don't pass out because I have two posts this week! In this post, I am sporting a casual combination including my favorite Sorel Slimpback boots. I am announcing I have decided to grow out my hair. I have had short hair FOREVER. I love my short hair, but I think it's time for a change. I am telling all of you, so it keeps me accountable and I am less likely to cut it in the next few months when it starts to look funky. Like in this photo, I will be wearing a lot of hair accessories to get me through this grow out period. I have been doing my research on things that can help me grow out my hair as fast as possible. These are a few tips I have found:
1. Try not wash your hair a lot.
2. Use a deep conditioner treatment at least once a week.
3. Take Biotin to aid in hair health and growth.
4. Drink water and exercise
5. Be patient

These two suggestions I wasn't sure about, first using Biosilk shampoo and conditioner. Lastly, an egg white treatment, the protein is great for healthy hair.

If you have any other tips for growing out my hair I would love to hear them?

  1. I did this grow-out and the most important thing for me was to find ways at every stage to have an "up-do". Some stages are infuriatingly awkward and only looked good with a bunch of bobby pins creating a hybrid French twist in the back topped with a headband. Also - no trims. No shaping. No one touched my hair for a good 6+ months except bangs.

    1. I am glad you said no trims and all the information I read said get regular trims . Yes, I think bobby pins will be my friend during this period.

  2. You look great as always and this is a go to style for me.
Guess what? I too, am growing my hair out. I try to keep it under wraps as I am trying to trick myself into it...wearing hats, beanies, headbands, etc. We'll see, but I don't have an actually length in mind yet. You know, slow and steady!

    Have fun...I plan too.
    Cheers!

    1. Awesome Shon we will grow out our hair together, I love your short hair so much! I wish could snap our fingers and instantly have longer hair, but it will be a while.

  3. I always love your style! And your short hair!! However - I too was thinking the same things this past couple'a weeks....I imagine long luscious locks! LOL! Even though I KNOW it's not right for my face and I always flip it back in a pony! Not washing your hair helps it grow faster?!?!? Interesting tip

    1. Thanks so much, yeah they said your hair grows better when it has the natural oils and washing your hair takes those away. This one is a hard one for me I wash my hair a lot.

  4. I take the collagen supplements from Youtheory (I get mine from Costco) and they are pretty amazing. You will see a difference in your eyelashes too :) I am always jealous of people who can rock short hair- I love it on you but I am excited to see it long. You're gorg no matter what! Good luck!
