Top 10 things I love about NYC continued

Happy Wednesday, soon the family and I will be headed for the beaches of the Outer Banks. I must say I can't wait.  We are originally from the east coast and I truly miss the beach.  My husband really looks forward to his yearly surfing trips and we love being with his family. Our kids have been spending time with their grandparents ,so we have been kid-less since NYC and I can't wait to see my rug-rats. The house has been extremely quiet, but my husband and I have had a lot of fun together. Well, I will continue the last 5 of my top 10 things I loved about NYC.

6. Grand Central station is amazing with the amount of people coming and going everyday. While in NYC, just stop in and check it out.

These oxfords (similar) were very comfortable to walk around the city(I did not always wear comfortable, for the love of fashion).
Double dutch shorts - Madewell
Forever 21 Lace sheer tank - similar

7. Shopping, shopping, and more shopping. I found a great row of thrift stores and finally got to go to Zara in person.  Anything you are looking to buy you will find it here. I found this cool vintage shop. They had all the clothing separated by decade.

8. We stayed in the Fashion District and right around the corner is a the Chelsea Hotel. This hotel is located at   23rd Street. This hotel was finished being built in 1885 and is best known for all of the famous people that have lived here, from Mark Twain, Arthur Miller and Stanley Kubrick to Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix  and Madonna. List list goes on, even Andy Warhol made a film in this hotel.  This hotel is considered a historic New York landmark. Hotel Chelsea and The Dakota on the upper west side where John Lennon once lived, are two very mysterious places that surely deserve a look if you are in town!

9.While we were in NYC, we went to the new Yankee Stadium to see a European soccer game with Chelsea versus Paris.  In 2008, my husband and I had visited the old Yankee Stadium to see the last ever Red Sox vs Yankees game.  The new stadium is right across the street and is awesome.  I especially like the fact they built little fields where the old stadium was for kids.  If you get a chance to see a game there you should go. This was the first soccer game ever played at Yankee Stadium.  My favorite player on Chelsea is David Luiz. He is an awesome defensive player.  I love his personality and crazy flair.

10. Every time you go to NYC you can see something you didn't the last time you were there. I love that my husband is one of those guys that takes so many pictures. We just love walking around the streets together and it's great for memories.

What kind of shoes do you wear on a trip that you will be doing a lot of walking? Do you wear sensible shoes or go for more fashionable shoes?

  1. Love your photos. I haven't been to NYC in ages. I am long overdue for a visit.

As far as shoes go, it depends on where I am vacationing. When we were visiting the Alps, I was fine wearing hiking shoes. But when we go somewhere metropolitan like San Francisco or Paris, I will wear fashionable shoes like ballet flats, loafers or knee high boots.

Have a great time at the beach!
